I Like You

God’s Masterpiece

I like you because together we are ~ who I am meant to be
Each one of us together ~ not separately
Becomes God’s Masterpiece of Art
When we stand as one
The Body of Christ
God’s Own Son

I like you because you are meek and mild
And you because you are tender as a child
I like you because you are bold and courageous
And you because your faith is contagious
I like you because you never give up, never let go
And you because of the mercy you show
I like you because you are a true peace maker
And you because you are a giver not a taker
I like you for your engineering mind
And you for your ability to get things done on time
I like you for the way you love others
And you for the way you look out for your brothers
I like you for the justice you show
And you for all of the times you just “let it go”
I like you because you always find time for the Lord
And you because you’re always so busy serving others you never get bored
I like you because of the joy you have exploding inside
And you because your heart is so tender you always cry
I like you because of your sense of humor, so rare
And you, I like you because of how deeply you care
I like you because of your quiet gentle spirit
And you because whenever God speaks you always hear it
I like you because of your love for the poor
And you for always wanting to give more
I like you for the way you respect God’s word
And you for putting into practice what you’ve heard
I like you because you preach the good news over seas
And you because you stayed here to minister to people like me
I like you because of the way you share you faith
And you because of the way you trust God day to day
I like each and every one of you ~ so special you are to me
Because when I look inside of you, Jesus is what I see
So I like you because of everything that you are that I am not
And all that I am in Christ through you and with you because ~

Together ~ not separately we are

I Wish for You

I wish I could take it away for you;

All the pain and sorrow - that seems to torment you.

I wish I could say I’ve walked down that road;

Have it be enough to lighten your load.

I want so desperately to reach out in some way.

Try to comfort you and say,

“You can do it, I know you can.”

“Set your heart and take your stand.”

It’s just not that easy though.

This is some where only you can go.

As much as I hope and try;

I can only hope to stay close by.

Looking in on you through prayer;

In the morning and evening, with much care.

Trusting our Lord to take care of you

Believing him to see you through.

And so I shall do this with all of my might.

Remembering you, morning, noon and night.

So hold on to your faith - believe in the truth;

And remember that God will not forsake you.

"Friendly Fire"

Can you imagine getting stabbed straight through the chest with a huge sword and not even feeling it?

At first you think it's shock. Then as time goes by you realize you still don't feel a thing.
You look down at your chest you see the sword... it's there, but no pain. "Hmm I guess I've just gotten used to it?"

You've been attacked like this before but normally it was in the heat of a battle.
Flaming arrows soaring throw through the air and you had your sword out fighting as well.

This time it just came out of nowhere. You didn't even see the sword. I think they call it friendly fire in now a days terms?
Although "friendly" fire...I don't know...standing here staring at this huge sword through my chest....trying to figure out how to best remove it.....that term just doesn't seem to fit.

Honestly.....I don't think I can remove this sword from my chest. I am going to have to get help. I don't just mean anybody's help either.... I am gonna need the Master's touch.

Even though I don't feel anything. I don't see any blood. Just the sword in my chest. It's a HUGE sword. There's no way I can carry on with life with it in my chest.

Can you imagine?

Just think about it for a moment. A person walking around trying to do day to day things with a huge sword sticking out of them; from their chest area? They just couldn't function right. Certainly wouldn't be able work; sitting in at my desk would be impossible. Think about sleeping...HA! Not! Couldn't lie down. Getting close to people would be near impossible as well.

Yep, definatley need to get this taken care of a.s.a.p.

And well....I can't see myself living with the memory of the sword flying through the air and stabbing straight in the heart either. THAT is definitely one I need to have the Master work on as well!

"Friendly Fire".... hmmmm people really NEED to be more care when they use their fire arms. Shooting off at the mouth can be lethal.

"The tongue has the power of life and death, " Proverbs 18:21

Thankfully, in this case I know the Great Physician and He can sew me right up!

"Wake up, O sleeper,..."

Aug 25, 2009

"Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you." (Eph 5:14)

This word came to me first thing this morning.

A “WAKE-UP CALL” to the people of God.

“Come out from among them and be ye separate!” says the Lord; “so that those who do not know me may see MY light IN you and SEEK ME and the life ONLY I can give them.”

[ John 17:14 …… “… for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.”]

(see this scripture John 17:6-25, Jesus’ prayer to the Heavenly Father, in full context below)

“Ephesians….Ephesians….Ephesians”…..I kept hearing Ephesians….. “the church in America is like the church of Ephesus”; having to deal with all of its blessings and all its challenges as well.

The Lord brought my attention this morning to chapter 4&5 with particular emphasis on,

“Living as Children of the Light”

So that we will actually stand out in society…or as God Himself puts it in scripture…we can .. “Come out from among them and be ye separate.” (2Cor 6)

The entire book Ephesians is absolutely WONDERFUL!!! It starts with lifting us up with encouragement and praise…then exhortation and instruction and of course as you see feel a bit overwhelmed after reading the scripture below, in chapter 6 we get the instructions on how to accomplish and carry through what is required of us to live a Godly and victorious life!

Oh Halleluia!!!!!

Living as Children of Light Ephesians ch 4:17-ch 5:21

17So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.

20You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. 21Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

25Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26"In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold. 28He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.

29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

1Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7Therefore do not be partners with them.

8For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10and find out what pleases the Lord. 11Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, 14for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:
"Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you."

15Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. 18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

21Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

I know most of us have read over this scripture a ton of times……but honestly I have to admit I have not heard enough teachers, preachers or evangelists preach on it myself.

Lately what I “have” been hearing is how we can reach the lost and dieing world by “appearing” to “relate to them” more by “reaching them on their level”.

I have often heard the argument, “Well even Jesus ate with sinners.”

This is true Jesus DID eat with sinners….however, Jesus, though He lived here on earth as we do and ate and drank among sinners as we do…He was without sin.

Most assuredly living a live that was undeniably unique and separate; which is what we are called to do; life as He did. Jesus never “became as a sinner to reach a sinner”.

…..THIS is NOT scriptural and NOT what is best for us as children of the light.

Below is the prayer Jesus prayed FOR US.

Jesus Prays for His Disciples - John 17:6-25

6"I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one. 12While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. 13"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

20"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25"Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."

HE’S WATCHING OVER YOU

A Song

Sleepless nights the Lord spends on you.

Watching and waiting to see what you'll do,

When times get tough to see where you'll go,

And all the time, all the time, he wants you to know.

That, sleepless nights the Lord spends on you.

He's always there to see you through.

Neither slumber nor sleep will He ever do;

Because, the Lord is watching over you.

***

When you think it's over and you've given your all.

Just look to the Lord and give him a call.

He'll be there for you. He'll see you through.

He never sleeps. He never sleeps.

He's too busy watching over you.

***

Sleepless nights the Lord spends on you.

Ever keeping all harm far from you.

Watching your life; seeing you through.

Yes, the Lord is watching over you.

The Lord, he's watching over you.
