I will refer to today's experience in my little "soap box rant" - however today's experience is just one of many. So many in fact, that it is now time for me to pour them all out....out upon the ground that surrounds the foot of the cross! So I do not risk loosing my salvation! [NO...NOT REALLY LOOSE MY SALVATION-but I will tell you, it has become quite upsetting and source of constant conversation starter in my prayer time with the Lord!...and I think perhaps there are allot more important issues at hand when I am in the presence of the Master :)...]
Question...Why is it that family members in the body of Christ - that you celebrate Jesus with, worship the Almighty God with, can not even muster a *smile* or respond a sincere "hello" back to you in public away from church....while on the other hand total strangers who are obviously NOT a part of the family of God will respond to you [a stranger] cheerfully?
If you don't know the answer, that is quite alright. I do.
You see I have already taken this to the Lord in prayer. Laid it all down before him at the foot of the cross. I feel much better now.
The answer, which came from Jesus himself, is very simple.
When I asked the Lord the question above, he answered in these words,
"They are all responding to me in you."
I paused and thought about his answer.
Knowing I didn't quite understand he continued on,
"Amy, think about it. Not everyone in the body rejects you and not everyone in the world embraces you. Look back in time to your walk with me...the times when you have walked closest to me....and times when you have strayed away and gone down your own path.
Then look at my life when I walked as a son of man in my ministry on earth. There were some that were known to serve God that did not respond to me and others that did openly. There were people that were not religious at all that responded to me and others that did not. People are simply responding to my Spirit in you."
My response to the Lord,
"So this is a good thing?"
I got no answer....hmmmm*********************
After thinking about it long and hard....I suppose it is..a good thing......but still..let's get back to my soap box, shall we?
Shouldn't we as believers make more of an effort to love one another? After all...Jesus did say...."Everyone will know that you are my disciples because of your love for each other." John 13:35
He didn't say because of your love for those who you like or believe the same way you do.
Okay...Nuff said!
Good thing I don't like public speaking or standing on soap boxes too long!
