Trust God?
IN the letter to the Corinthians Paul says,
..."for we are a people who live by trust, not by what we see."
(2 Corinthians 5:7 Complete Jewish Translation)
These are surely perilous times we live in.
Anyone who says otherwise is deceiving you, and surly is deceived himself.
If you take the scripture in context, read what Paul is saying, he is encouraging even exhorting us to believe, to have faith to take our faith to a deeper level. To really TRUST God.
When everything in this world, when everything in OUR world, seems to be collapsing around us and not going according to plan.
"We know that when the tent which houses us here on earth is torn down...."
Paul is talking about our very lives. Our physical bodies.
He goes on to encourage us by saying,
"We have a permanent building from God, a building not made by human hands, to house us in heaven."
Paul continues under the powerful influence of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) to describe in such detail the suffering of the delicate human existence of a servant of God (us as believers) and then the powerful resurrection reward of the faithful child of God. Those who walk by faith, trusting in God's promises, not being moved by their circumstances.
Something easily obtained?
I would say not.
But, think about it. Seriously, just for a second, think about it.
Should it be?
Even Paul, who was Saul, all the suffering that he went through in his life, as a believer says it won't be an easy life for us. However, Paul, after everything he endured in his physical body, (the multiple stonings, beatings, starvings, imprisonments, over and over again. Even almost to death, where unto Paul desired even so himself to die)
Still in the midst of all this, Paul reaches out to encourage those of us who are faithful to walk by faith and not just by what we can see. Letting us know God has not forgotten us and will reward us greatly!
Paul tells us in his letter to the Romans that, "I do not believe that the sufferings that we go through now are even worth comparing with the Glory that is revealed to us in the future."
(Romans 8:18 Complete Jewish Translation)
Unfathomable
I don't know about YOU but I am greatly encouraged by this!
The Lord has NOT forgotten YOU!
The LORD makes ALL things NEW.
Remain faithful and remember,
"If God be for you who can be against you?"
Be blessed!
