Actually I don't know that it's really "these" days so much as more accurately, "we are all so busy."
I would add perhaps a bit too busy.
Seriously now, take a moment to think back to when you were a wee child... Now stay there a moment a see if you can remember the grownups in your life hustling about like crazy people then when asked for a smidgen of their time answer you with, "I'm sorry just too busy!"
Guess what?
I'll bet every one of those folks are still "too busy" today .... At least those that are still here on earth!
My own Pops (bless his soul - he is with Yeshua now) had some WoNdErFuL advice. Advice he LIVED by and in doing so left an indelible mark on my life!
I come from a large family. Both my Mother and Father worked VERY hard.
(We will leave the history at that for now)
Every Saturday I would watch my Pops light up the little habachi grill (do they even make those anymore?) then, depending on the financial situation of our family that week my Pops would throw a (small) juicy steak on the grill for himself OR he would throw a nice hamburger on the grill.
As far as I can remember this happened each Saturday.
I asked him about it one day and this was his reply, "Amy, there will ALWAYS be bills to pay. Your Mother and I work hard all week long. No one else is going to see we get a little rest. If we don't take a little time we will never make it through the week."
