O Jerusalem - your gates....

Psalm 122:1-9
A song of ascents. By David:

I was glad when they said to me,

“The house of Adonai! Let’s go!”

Our feet were already standing at your gates, O Jerusalem!.

Jerusalem, built as a city fostering friendship and unity.

The tribes have gone up there,
the tribes of Adonai,as a witness to Isra’el,
to give thanks to the name of Adonai.

For there the thrones of justice were set up,the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for shalom in Jerusalem;may those who love you prosper.

May shalom be within your ramparts, prosperity in your palaces.

For the sake of my family and friends, I say,

“Shalom be within you!”

For the sake of the house of Adonai our God,I will seek your well-being.

The Linotype Operator a new novel by Michael Robert Wolf
A Novel by
Michael Robert Wolf

The Linotype Operator

Leah Maines is the editor of this new novel: She had the following to say about the novel.

FLP EDITIONS

Set in present day Brooklyn and Manhattan—with historic monuments and institutions as background characters—The Linotype Operator is the story of Orthodox Jewish former Linotype operator David Kaplan and his two daughters. Dutiful and religiously observant Naomi is forty-eight, single, and lives with her father in Brooklyn. Her "prettier" younger sister Lisa is married, has two young children, and lives in the suburban community of Englewood, New Jersey.

After meeting a handsome non-Jewish man at the Macy's housewares department where she works, Naomi's periodic daydreams begin to get the best of her—setting in motion a collision of worlds that can scarcely be contained in either Brooklyn or Manhattan. Sprinkled with rye humor, and including a cast of unusual supporting characters, The Linotype Operator gives the reader a deeply poignant look into parallel New York worlds and lives.

The Linotype Operator is Michael Robert Wolf's second novel. His first novel, The Upper Zoo, was released to high acclaim in 2012, and rose to number three across all genres on Amazon.com. He also wrote and directed an independent motion picture, The Sound of the Spirit, which was released the same year. The film consistently hovers around eight out of ten stars on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB.com). Wolf is also active in ministry related work, and regularly writes blogs and articles. He lives in Landen, Ohio with his wife, fine artist and author Rachel Rubin Wolf.

Rating:  [5 of 5 Stars!]
“I don’t know if Michael Robert Wolf’s The Linotype Operator is a great novel or a good novel, but I do know that this unassuming story of a devout Brooklyn Jew and his not-so-wayward daughter enchanted me in a way I’ve been enchanted by only a handful of stories over the past ten years. When I finished it, I wanted to read it all over again.”
