Okay, so... I was reading the Psalms, again. I started over from the beginning. THIS time I began reading from my mobile device on biblegateway.com. (wait for it) The reason this is important to my point is that, I have read and reread the Psalms many, many times...and...I never noticed this before!
I guess that is why I am so excited about it.
(Now for those who already knew this, please just click to the next page and let me be excited. For those who haven't realized this like myself well...this is the deal.)
In Psalm 107 King David prophesies about the Messiah Yeshua calming the storm for his disciples. Almost right down to the letter. I think it's pretty cool.
I was just mentioning to my daughter this morning how cool it is that every time we read the word of G-D he has something new for us.
Okay, so here are the scriptures.
First the Psalm. 107. Then following below are the scriptures from theNew Covenant from the Book of Mark and Matthew. No highlighting required as it is quite obvious when you read the scriptures (all three), that the Psalmist was talking about the very moment in time that Yeshua calmed the storm for his disciples.
Psalm 107:25-30
For He commands and raises the stormy wind,
Which lifts up the waves of the sea.
26
They mount up to the heavens,
They go down again to the depths;
Their soul melts because of trouble.
27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits’ end. Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.
Then they are glad because they are quiet;
So He guides them to their desired haven.
Mark 4:35-41
35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”[a]41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
Matthew 8:23-27
23 Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. 24 And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. 25 Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. 27 So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
