Have you ever felt like you were doing everything right and still were walking around with a cloud over your head when it's sunny all around you?
Why is this happening?
Did you know that there is a huge difference between KNOWING THE TRUTH and LIVING IN the truth?
Yeshua/Jesus said to his disciples,
"“I AM the Way — and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me."
And
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said,
“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Yeshua didn't say he knew the truth. Yeshua said he was the truth. huge difference.
One might think as a disciple, 'what's the big difference?'....well frankly there is a monumental life giving difference.
Well let's take a look at the definition of the word "truth"
per Merriam Webster Definition (though all the the dictionaries had the definition)
- :truth : the real facts about something : the things that are true
- So what does Merriam Webster have to say about the word true?
- : agreeing with the facts : not false
- : real or genuine
- Point?
- Yeshua/Jesus is truth. Is true. Is the real and genuine deal. He's not just a man or prophet teaching us the truth. He is the truth.
- Pretty awesome.
- So in order obtain the Shalom/Peace and direction that we so desperately desire in life by serving and following Yeshua/Jesus...it is imperative that we get to know (*yada -understand root meaning below) him intimately.
- Not just know about him. Not just serve him.
- Actually get to know him like we know each other as family. As friends.
- If this was at all enlightening to you, or spoke to you...please share with others.
