You Just Can't Measure It!!!

LoVe

Okay - I am  scryptping (that would be scribbling + typing + writing) a post about the strange and wonderful, way over the top kinda of day  I seemingly survived.

So if you were unfortunate enough to have stumbled upon my page, may I take a brief moment to warn you  invite you to pull up chair, pillow, whatever  makes you comfy!

Settle in and try to endure  enjoy the long awaited ramblings of sooperfrazzerrazerated AmyColleen!

(don't ask)

Okay,
wow. Let me say that again....wow. All in one day I have been amazed, convicted, disappointed, encouraged, moved to tears, blown away, flabbergasted and all by total strangers....well maybe trow in a work colleague or two.
So on with the sharing of the heart wrenching - tear jerking stories.

For starters I will share the one thought provoking. Well at least for me it was thought provoking indecent that has captivated my attention since it happened. Okay, well...maybe, just maybe you won't find it to be as exciting as the next Indiana Jones Series but I will try not to bore you too terribly much. This is about Antisemitism.
This has really bothered me. We live in America. For the most part we still have freedom of religion. Okay, so we may get harassed here and there and in some circumstances
we may even have to go to court if we stand up for our faith. We still have the right to believe what we wish and teach our children the same. Gather together and worship and pray.

So today I witnessed a colleague out right deny their Jewish heritage. In a public setting. Without hesitation. Insistently. That's it. That's the big story.

I told you. Not super movie excitement.
However - It hurt me deep inside. I actually felt it in my chest, the pain.
Honestly....It has really affected me. I mean I totally "understand" it. The "why" of it. IN MY MIND.
In my heart, not so much. I see antisemitism growing at an exponential rate throughout the world. I can honestly say this is the first time I have encounter  it from an actual Jewish person.
Yes I realize what I just said....I am trying to wrap my mind around it myself.

I mean, I understand there have been times when our ancestors, and not so very long ago...have had to hide their Jewishness to stay alive....AND..... it may very well be happening RIGHT NOW in other countries around the globe where the antisemitism has gotten to that point. But we are talking GREAT persecution in those countries to include physical danger and in many cases loss of life!.....However, as I stated we are in the U.S.of A. and for a little while longer this is not the case, so I am having a really having a hard time with this one. This is the first time I have run into, met a Jewish person who is afraid to be associated with their Jewish heritage .

Okay, for item #2 of the day.

I am curious. I would like to take a poll for those who have stayed with me this far.
If you would right your YES I would go back to the store or NO I would not
In the comment section below.

I had another colleague of mine tell me she received a "free" $67.00 pair of shoes from a major retailer. When I asked how. She told me  they failed to ring up the shoes at the check out.

My  colleague says it is their mistake and her gain!

I say that is the same as stealing.

I would like to KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!

So again  - If you think it is the RETAILERS FAULT would NOT RETURN to the store to let them know about the mistake  write NO in the comment section below.

If you would go back to the store, think its the right thing to do type YES In the comment section below.

Last but not least - #3 - My "feel" good story of my strange day.
Let us always remember that things could always be worse!
As I was walking back to my desk after a training class I noticed one of my colleagues was limping.
I asked him what was up with his leg. He said he had blisters on his feet from walking. I further imposed  on him by asking where he was walking that would give him blisters? He told me to work.
LOOOOOOONG story shorter, my coworker was walking 10 miles to work each morning since his bus pass ran out. he has three more days.
Well, of course I gave him buss money.... but more than that it was the conversation we had that still plagues me. No one could pick him up on their way to work. No one of all his work friends. No one could loan him $5.00 until pay day. No one. Now, I know it's tight. It was only by G-ds divine hand I had it to give....but still. It seems we have all become so self centered.

I left my interaction thanking the LORD for my job and my car and health and feet!

Truly this day was so strange....these were only 3 three things that I am sharing. Three interactions.

There was the man under the bridge. The Lady at Meijers....

G-d is amazing...GREAT.....and we do not know Him.
But I really want to.

Shalom
