In Light of Pastor Appreciation

This is a poem I wrote years ago for a very dear friend and Pastor of mine, who has since gone to be with the Lord.

I have had the privilege to work under and with a few more Pastors since then.

I am dedicating this to them all!

Thank you and

God bless you real good! 🕊️😊💙

                 MY PASTOR

My Pastor is like no other.

I’ve looked far and wide and can see;

My Pastor is like no other.

Yet, he seems familiar to me.

My Pastor loves without measure;

takes care of his flock selflessly.

My Pastor lives what he teaches.

Gives grace to all men equally.

My Pastor gives without ceasing.

He cares like I’ve never seen.

Staying up nights for the brethren;

up before dawn, on his knees.

My Pastor is like no other.

Every day he amazes me.

But I can’t help but wonder,

about the familiarity.

Lord, you know my Pastor.

You created him one of a kind.

Why does he seem so familiar to me,

if he’s the only one of his kind?

Your Pastor, dear child, is quite special.

He’s one of a kind as you see.

The reason he seems so familiar to you;

is because he’s so much like me.

A Pro Life Poem For Dad's

In a time when mothers are fighting for the "right" to murder their babies. Their own flesh and blood.

I thought I would post this poem I wrote YEARS ago for a
Crisis Pregnancy Center on Father's Day.

Thank You Daddy

Thank you Daddy for letting me live, for letting me learn to smile and give. Thank you Daddy for not taking from me,  the chance for life and liberty.
I know it was hard, but Daddy you’ll see, that when I grow up you’ll be proud of me, ‘Cause I’ll be like you and Mommy too. I’ve got the spirit of life to see me through.

I used to hear Mommy and feel her tears. She would cry so hard and tremble with fear; as you would speak of “what was best”.  Defending your life;  defending my death. I tried so hard. My mouth opened wide. But there was no sound as I cried and cried. ”Mommy!…Daddy!…Pleasssse listen to me. I’m alive and living! Don’t kill me!”

I didn’t give up because you couldn’t hear me. Instead I asked God to make you see; that my life was precious in His sight.  That if I were born things would be alright.

Then in sudden sweet surprise, I felt a spirit of peace arise. I could hear Mommy’s voice.
She was talking to me. Laughing and crying, joyously. “My baby! My baby!”  I heard her say,
“Your Daddy says that you can stay!”

Oh thank you Daddy for letting me live!  For letting me learn to smile and give.
Thank you Daddy for giving to me,  my chance for life and liberty!

Thank You :)

It's all about Thanksgiving
"Giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me...." Psalm 50:23

I thank you for your love - that is everlasting

I thank you for you grace - that is amazing

I thank you for your mercy  - that is new every day

I thank you for your Word - that is alive an truly a light unto my path

I thank you for my life, my being, who you created, me - Amy Colleen Drisoll Taylor Klapp - every molecule of my being - for I am fearfully and wonderfully made in your image

I thank you for each trial in my life - that has brought pain and suffering

I thank you for every bit of tribulation in my life - that has rocked my world and tried my faith

I thank you for the valleys you have lead me into - every cold dank valley

I thank you for the mountain tops - that remind me you are still with me

I thank you for deserts I have wandered through - parched and alone

I thank you for the wilderness experiences - learning of your supernatural

I thank you for my family - each one so different

I thank you for new beginnings - born from faith in forgiveness

I thank you for vision in the spirit - where I see the promised from you

I thank you for my husband - a man of God

I thank you for my sons - young men of God who honor their mother and bring to you

I thank you for their wives and children - a Godly heritage a grandparent to rejoice in

I thank you for my daughters - woman of God shinning like stars in the darkness

I thank you for their husbands - those you have seen

I thank you for reconciliation - your hearts desire

I thank you for health in my family - that we may praise you

I thank you for work - that we may give back into your kingdom

I thank you for liberty to speak freely - that we may share your gospel of salvation

I thank you for YOU - most of all - without you, your Holy Spirit drawing me, I would have no desire for you. Without you even placing in me a spirit of thanksgiving I would not be here thanking you. Without YOU - Lord - I would be DEAD in my sin. I love you Lord. I am most thankful for you."

I thank you for so much more - this is my desire Lord - to be thankful - please show me - day by day - more and more - all that I should be thankful for - please help me Holy Spirit to turn everything around into a Sacrifice of Thanksgiving to you! "Be thankful in all circumstances. for this is the will for you who belong to Christ Jesus." 1Thessalonians 5:18

"Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High,
And call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall honor and glorify Me."
Psalm 50:14-15

A Mother's Heart

Having a child changes you. Whether you are a man or a woman. Becoming a father or a mother. I am, however (in this post) speaking about the woman.

There are certain things that can never be understood by the "heart" regarding motherhood unless you are a mother. Even if you are a father, and I will add, even a great father.

This is a short post and the sole purpose of the preceding few sentences is to explain to the reader I am speaking about the woman. About the mother.
Also, please let me make it perfectly clear. Let the reader fully understand that I am by any means demeaning the role of the man or the love of a father. Both roles are equally important. I am simply making a point and giving a shout out today directed at one and not the other today.

This being said, I just want to take a moment and give a great big THANKS and kudos to someone (who will remain nameless at this time) for going out of her way for blessing me, simply because they could.

A woman, become Mother.

It was a subtle expression of understanding.
Done out of love, prompted from a Mother's Heart.

Thank you.
